Visiting a doctor while you're on holiday

When you travel over holidays, you hope that you'll be happy, healthy and have a great time. If you or one of your dependants is unlucky enough to need a GP while you’re travelling, we have you covered as long as you have benefits available.

You don't have to worry if you need to find a GP in an area you don't know well. Our tools help you find a GP and you can even find a GP we have an agreement with. Doctors in our network not only save you money by asking a fixed rate, but they also have to meet our quality standards so you know you will receive quality care.

Find a doctor using the website

You can find a doctor on our website by following these steps:

1. Log in to www.lahealth.co.za
2. Under MEDICAL AID, click on Need a doctor.
3. Click on Find a doctor close to you to open the Medical and Provider Search tool.
4. Under 1. Who or what, click on or choose a category of provider / Doctors / General Medical Practitioners.
5. Under 2. Where, choose your general area and click on search.

The doctors marked with full network cover are network GPs charging our rates.

Find a doctor using the Discovery app

1. Log in with your website username and password.
2. Click on the Health icon, scroll down and click on Find a healthcare provider.
3. A map will open showing all GPs on the GP network within a 5 km radius of your current location.
4. Click on the grey funnel (filter) on the bottom right corner of the screen filter to find GPs that are part of our network.
